The study was done to determine level of awareness of community members toward interaction with the deaf and mute in barangay Sto. Tomas and Langkiwa, City of Binan, Laguna using survey questionnaires. An interactive seminar was provided after the preliminary survey. Result show that the residents are previously moderately aware about the deaf and mute members of the community. However, residents become extremely aware of the deaf and mute members of the community after the seminar. This indicates that the seminar is effective in increasing the level of interactive awareness of the residents toward the deaf and mute members of the community. Interactive communication between residents and the deaf and mute must encouraged and social interaction among the members of the community must be provided to minimize, if not, prevent, social isolation that disabled members are expecting.
