Abstract. Malnutrition remains one of the major problem encountered in children with congenital heart disease (CHD), it increases morbidity and mortality, longer hospitalization and delays surgical intervention. A two year review of nutritional status infants/children who congenital heart disease seen and admitted at the Philippine Heart Center from January 2001 to December 2002. The study showed that 62% (37/59) of infants/children with congenital heart disease have normal weight for height. In acyanotic CHD, Spaermans correlation coefficient showed that LA: Aorta ratio, degree of pulmonary hypertension. in the presence of obstruction to outflow tract, the degree of hypoxemia is inversely related to stunting. Presence of RVOTO is inversely related to wasting. In cyanotic CHD, stunting is inversely related to the level of pulmonary hypertension. In the presence of obstruction to outflow tract, the degree of hypoxemia is inversely related to stunting. Presence of RVOTO is inversely related to stunting and significantly related to wasting.
