Objectives

General Objective:To verify through in vivo studies in non-anesthesized mammals (dogs and cats) the effects of oral and parenteral administration of mahogany seed preparation on vital signs, ECG and EEGSpecific Objectives:1. To determine the effects of varying oral doses (by gavage) of mahogany preparation on HR, RR, ECG and the interaction with known drigs: epinephrine, atropine, acethycholine, beta blocker (esmolol);2. To characterize the effect of parenteral administration of mahogany on blood pressure and compare with standard doses of histamine (vaso-pressor test);3. To determine the effect of oral acute and subacute doses of mahogany seed.
